This week we look at the greatest swimmer and greatest Olympian of all time - Michael Phelps. Phelps is a 28 time Olympic medalist with 23 total Olympic Golds! He swam in 5 different Olympic Games with his fist coming at the age of 15 yrs old. At the 2008 Beijing Olympics Phelps won an unprecedented 8 gold medals and set 7 world records. His incredible bio can be found HERE

In this video Michael Phelps sits down with Forbes' Kurt Badenhausen and discusses the highs and lows of his illustrious career. He talks about how when he first learned to swim - “I didn’t want to get my face wet” He also talk about his training for the 2008 Olympics - “I went 5 straight years without missing a single workout. 365 days a year.. every single day I was in he water.”

Great Read - Parents’ Guide to Competitive Swimming Success

The following article is by the coach of one of the most successful age-group programs in the country. I strongly encourage every parent on our team to look at Coach Brooks’ article and use it as a guide as your swimmers progress through our program. There is a lot of material, but I found all of it to be relevant to questions and situations that come up almost every day on the deck and at the meets. READ MORE HERE

Reminder - New Member T-Shirt/Cinch Bag

If you swimmer is new to the Springfield Bullets and  have not received their complimentary Bullets’ t-shirt and cinch bags, please see coach Jeff at the pool.  We recently replenished our stock and want to make sure all our new swimmers receive their shirt and bag.

Reminder - Observing Practice at Eisenhower Pool

We ask that anyone watching practice at Eisenhower pool to please do so from the wooden bleachers on the north side of the pool.  This allows the coaches and swimmers to focus on us during the practice times.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
